My house was built by hand in 1824 by my family, so I had an interest in maintaining the integrity of the original house while trying to update and design interior space to accommodate my family. Russ was a super partner in this effort. We started in the 11x12 living room that had 6 doorways and no wall space to put a normal sized couch against. By the time we were done the original oak floors, which I had never seen, were glowing with new wax, new windows were in place with custom built oak window sills repurposed from old porch roof beams, and the expanded space accommodated both a living room and a dining room. The next challenge was the bedroom, which started as 2 unheated storage rooms. Russ worked with almost 200 year old dust and dirt to transition this space into a bedroom suite complete with exposed beams , full bath, heat, new windows, and walk in closet. He also transitioned another unheated room that was used to store firewood into a bright and modern laundry room. On the outside he helped me figure out the best options to update the old roof and wood siding. It is all beautiful. If you want quality work, Russ will deliver.

“We are very pleased with the addition Russ added to our log home. He built our 24’ by 24’ addition from the foundation through the finish carpentry. He also added to our front porch, built two dormers and roofed both the addition and original house.
The quality of Russ’s work was always evident in the final product that he created. He was able to conceptualize the steps that needed to be taken and follow through to completion. For instance, he custom crafted the intricate railing structure of the loft from a rough sketch that JoAnne drew.
